Action and reaction, ebb and flow, trial and error, change - this is the rhythm of living. Out of our over-confidence, fear; out of our fear, clearer vision, fresh hope. And out of hope, progress - Bruce Barton

My Photo Album-183: Rtn Muthu.Palaniappan

My acquaintance with Rtn Muthu.Palaniappan began with the First Karaikudi Book Festival.  He has been very kind to me from that time and has been helping me in many ways.  He is the President of the Karaikudi Chamber of Commerce and a much sought after local VIP.  He is a highly public-spirited person. He has donated blood for more than 100 times and this occasion was celebrated at the Karaikudi Kamban Mandapam by his friends and well-wishers and I could also participate in it. Here is with Suri and his wife on the occasion of Suri's 60th birthday celebrations. I shall always cherish his kindness and support.  May God bless him and his family!

NSP is related to me in more than one way.  We are almost of the same age.  He has helped me during crucial events of my life like my daughter's marriage, my father's death and while I was organizing the Karaikudi Book Festival.  We get on well and like each other. Recently I was there when he celebrated his birthday and could taste the birthday cake.

I am grateful to him and my God bless him and his family.

My Photo Album-179: Mr.MC

Mr MC is a relative of mine thru my marriage.  He has been kind and affectionate to me from the beginning.  He has helped during critical times like my daughter's higher education and also at the time of my daughter's marriage.  I am very much indebted to him for all his kindness and support.  He is a retired Head Master.  May God bless him and his family!

A Thought for Today-604: Chinese Proverb

A single conversation across the table with a wise man is worth a month's study of books - Chinese Proverb

My Photo Album-178: Krishna

My wife's youngest brother, Krishna. He is a simple, guileless,
innocent person.  His children, Ammu and Aravind, are very much
attached to us.  They grew up with us for nearly ten years.

A Thought for Today-603: Persian Proverb

Thinking well is wise, planning well is wiser, doing well is wisest – Persian Proverb

My Photo Album-177: My brother-in-law, Sukumar

This is my wife's second younger brother, Sukumar. Right from the beginning, life has been very unkind to him and he has met with a lot of sufferings and tragedies, with courage and confidence.  I feel very sad for him and his children

All his family members used to be very affectionate to me.  Then, one member, the sheet-anchor of the family, passed away.  Both his children were very attached to me.  But now they have grown and probably have many other interests and have no time for this, to borrow one of their favourite phrases,  "MOKKAI MAMA".

May God bless them all and may they find peace, prosperity and happiness!

A Thought for Today-602: W. C. Doane

Life has no smooth road for any of us; and in the bracing atmosphere of a high aim the very roughness stimulates the climber to steadier steps, till the legend, over steep ways to the stars, fulfills itself - W. C. Doane, American Bishop

He is an embodiment of patience.  I find many sterling qualities of my mother-in-law in him.  By patient struggle and hardwork, he has come up in life.  As I do not want to embarrass him, I shall not elaborate anymore. May God bless him!

My father-in-law, Mr.T.M.Chockalingam Pillai.  He was a pioneer in the field of Rice Mills in Tamil Nadu.  He had Rustom Engine agency in Tamil Nadu and used to go to places where people wanted to put up Rice Mills.  In that way, he has put up many rice mills in Tamil Nadu.  He had a large family and one of his sons became a District Judge.  Long before my marriage to his daughter, he had passed away.  But I could see how people revere him to this day.  Great soul! Picture of the day-407: Kundhukal Beach, Rameswaram

This photo was taken by me during my visit to Swami Vivekananda Memorial at Kundhukal Beach, Rameswaram.  The beach just behind backside wall of the Memorial.  That evening I felt a lot of peace in my mind as I looked at the sea, after spending a few quite minutes in the meditation hall of the Memorial. The only discordant note was registered by my people, as they had a very tough travelling by an auto from the main road to that Memorial. A town bus was plying several times a day to that Memorial. The road was so bad and nobody seems to have bothered about its maintenance, in spite of the historical importance of the place. Typical of our people.  I have felt it in many places and in many situations: Maintenance is a pointless or meaningless or maybe even a dirty word for our people. Many good things are lost forever for want of maintenance.  I am reminded of a saying my father used to quote:  A STITCH IN TIME SAVES NINE.

My Photo Album-173: Suri honouring Renowned Tamil Writer, Thi.Saa.Raaju

This photo was taken at a Homeopathy function held at the Health Institute, Karaikudi.  Renowned Tamil Writer and Homeopath, Major Thi.Saa.Raaju, was the Chief Guest.  I was given the assignment of honouring him.  I have been an admirer of him and have read many of his short stories along with my friend, Achuthanandam during my Manamadurai days. After coming to Homeopathy, I have read his books on Homeopathy in Tamil.  So it was memorable occasion for me to meet my favourite writer and honour him. The Major has long since passed away.So also my Homeopathy teacher, Dr C Abdulla Sehu. This photo has brought me the old memories of my Homeopathy days, which are gone forever now. However, I am happy to post this photo in my Album.  I shall always cherish this event.

Picture of the day-406:Tirupporur-Chengalpat Road

One early morning, Nellai and I decided to go to Singaperumal Kovil and worship at the shrine there.  There is a road from Tirupporur to Chengalpat.  Before Chengalpat, a short-cut takes us straight to Singaperumal Kovil, without touching Chengalpat. Nellai took me there in his bike. The road was picturesque and I liked it very much.  During that trip, I took several snaps, one of them is the above.  I have been longing to go to that shrine for a very long time.  It was fulfilled with the help of Nellai. I felt very happy about worshipping at the famous shrine and also about the beautiful trip.  Nellaiappa, a lot of thanks to you and may God bless you!
