This blog has become a sort of personal-cum-public diary. As for its contents, some are meant for me and my friends and relatives; others are for the public. This blog will have only positive, ennobling, elevating, encouraging and uplifting thoughts/ideas/materials. Whoever visits should feel happy and should be able to pick up some good ideas/thoughts/links. In short, "NOTHING NEGATIVE" is my motto.(Grateful thanks to Jon Sullivan and Public-Domain-Photos.com for the background photo)

The
future of farming: Driverless tractors, drones and robots. How is the
agriculture industry changing as digital technology develops? Unmanned tractors
controlled via GPS; drones that kill vermin in the fields from above; and
highly efficient bull sperm used to produce genetically optimized calves. This
is not science fiction. It’s the future of farming, today. "Smart
farming" is the agricultural industry's new buzzword. A survey of almost
600 German farmers has revealed that more than one in two now uses digital
solutions to optimize their harvests. Fierce regional and global competition,
declining subsidies, higher standards of food quality, environmental
protection, and increasing demand are forcing farmers to be highly efficient.
This documentary looks at three examples of "smart farming" in
Germany. Breeding consultant Johanna Schendel creates optimized dairy cows by
selecting the right bull semen. Asparagus farmer Heiner Bartels uses a
smartphone to calculate the optimum time to harvest. And drone pilot Bernd
Meyer is out to fight pests in maize fields from the air. All three are trying
to use modern technology to modify nature to fit the needs of our society. But
where are the limits? _______ DW Documentary gives you knowledge beyond the

The
universe is too big for us to be the only ones in it. It's just a matter of
knowing where to look, and scientists from NASA's TESS program might have
stumbled across the next clue in this galactic scavenger hunt. The Transiting
Exoplanet Survey Satellite was launched in April of 2019 with the aim of
locating planets in orbit around nearby stars. One of these stars is the
comparatively small GEE-JAY 357. It's about 31 light-years from Earth. It's one
of the closest to Earth! Thanks to TESS, NASA astronomers discovered a planet
orbiting this distant star. And in fact, it’s one of the few whose atmosphere
can be studied by scientists, once they determine if it has one! Other videos

A
planet that is technically survivable for humans 2:15 Can we
expect any alien visitors? 5:03 Why we
can't see those planets directly 6:57#planets#space#brightside SUMMARY: -
GEE-JAY 357 b is believed to be about twenty-two percent larger than Earth, and
eleven times closer to its star than Mercury is to the Sun. - Scientists have
discovered planets beyond our solar system before, but GEE-JAY 357-b is one of
the closest to Earth. - Hidden beyond the semi-molten glow of this “hot Earth,”
as astronomers called it, were two more planets. One of them, GEE-JAY 357-d is
just far enough from the star to potentially support life. - Its orbiting
inside its solar system's habitable zone, warm enough to support life, but not
so warm that it ends up charbroiled. - NASA scientists estimate that that
planet has an average temperature of about minus sixty-four degrees. That’s
cold, comparable to the interior of Antarctica. - I wouldn’t expect any alien
visitors for most of the same reasons humans will probably never be visiting
GEE-JAY 357-d for themselves. - If intelligent life developed, there’s no
reason to believe it wouldn’t sooner or later turn its sensory organs to the
stars. That's when the planet's gravity becomes an obstacle. I - Scientists
have estimated that reaching the moon of a planet ten times the size of Earth,
would require almost five hundred thousand tons of fuel to get off the ground.
- It is worth noting that Astronomers haven't yet been able to see any of these
planets directly. The TESS only discovered the massive and hot planet b because
of its silhouette passing in front of the star. - Since c and d never passed
between Earth and GEE-JAY 357 during the month when TESS was able to capture
images of the star, we've only been able to study them indirectly. - The middle
planet, called GEE-JAY 357-c just to make things confusing, didn’t even give us
that. Because of its unusually tilted orbit, this planet never passes between
Earth and its star at all. Music by Epidemic Sound https://www.epidemicsound.com/

Plastic
is one of Earth’s biggest problems. Its discovery transformed everyday life,
but its failure to degrade is choking the planet. Recent discoveries, however,
have given scientists hope that enzymes from bacteria might help fight plastic
waste and even make future products less harmful. Additional footage courtesy

the rise and fall of the Mongol Empire which, under the leadership of Genghis
Khan, became the largest contiguous land empire in history. -- It was the
largest contiguous land empire in history— stretching from Korea to Ukraine,
and from Siberia to southern China. And was forged on the open plains. In the
12th century, the East Asian steppe was home to scattered groups of nomads who,
by 1206, would be united under the innovative leadership of a man named
Temujin.

Unbelievable
Places that are Hard to Believe Really Exist 2014 HD 1080p Our world is so full
of wonders that new and amazing places are discovered every day, be that by
professional photographers or amateurs. Different geographical locations,
climatic conditions and even seasons offer the widest variety of natural
wonders: pink lakes, stunning lavender or tulip fields, breath-taking canyons
and mountains, and other places you can hardly believe actually exist! Some of
the pictures in this collection will be of all natural sights you can find
while traveling around the world, while the others have experienced human
interference -- but even in these cases, the result of such collaboration is
spectacular. The Japanese learned how to tame thousands of orchids and form a
romantic tunnel out of them; another one was formed all the way in Ukraine by a
passing train; and what eventually ends up as hot tea in our mugs, first grows
in stunning tree fields in Asia. No wonder that traveling in one of the best
forms of recreation -- even looking at these pictures takes your mind to far
away places... And yes, all those of those places are real!

a few centuries, almost all of the island’s trees were slashed and burned to
make room for farming. This rapid deforestation has resulted in massive soil
erosion that puts the island at risk for desertification. Today, the Icelandic
Forest Service has taken on the mammoth task of bringing back the woodlands.
With the help of forestry societies and forest farmers, Iceland’s trees are
slowly beginning to make a comeback. Watch this short film by Euforgen to learn

the past decade, prices for solar panels and wind farms have reached all-time
lows. However, the price for lithium ion batteries, the leading energy storage
technology, has remained too high. So researchers are exploring other
alternatives, including flow batteries, thermal batteries, and gravity-based
systems. CORRECTION (March 14, 2020): At 12:53 we
incorrectly identify the size of the energy storage market. Overall, the energy
storage market is predicted to attract $620 billion dollars in investments by
