we ride the Flam Railway in Norway- voted the Most Beautiful Train Journey in
the World!! We bought tickets from Flam to Myrdal- we were lucky that there was
still space as the Flamsbana railway is one of Norway's biggest attractions!

Riding
the Flam railway (pronounced Flom!) was a spur of the moment decision and we
were pleased to be able to get tickets for the Flam railway straight away- all
the way up to Myrdal! Often, this line is so busy that you have to wait a few
hours for the next available space. Lucky us!
The
Flam to Myrdal line is very pretty- although I'm not sure I'd call it the most
beautiful train journey in the world! Especially when it's raining like it
sadly was for us. Still, we recommend the train journey to anyone on a cruise
or a short visit to Norway, as it's a wonderful way to see the Norwegian
mountains and the village of Myrdal.
It
also gives you a chance to visit Kjosfossen waterfall, the waterfall on the
flamsbana railway. This waterfall actually powers the Flam-Myrdal line, which
is cool. There's also a crazy dancing hundra girl who tries to lure you into
the mountain- to your DOOM! :) The singing by the waterfall is pretty.
