Mongolia! A Journey through
Mongolia is a travel documentary from our one month trip through the great
expanses of the Mongolian plains.
We started the trip with a few
days in Ulaanbaatar to experience the sprawling metropolis. We also had a
chance to go to Hustai National Park not far from UB to see the last remaining
wild horse, the Takhi. Then we went on a ten day adventure to go live with the
Tsaatan Reindeer Herder tribe in the very north on the border of Siberia. This
was an incredible experience and it was very demanding with multiple days on
horseback after a long strenuous multi-day 4WD trip. After a short recovery we
went to the eastern part of the country to the Bayan-Ölgii Province to attend
the Golden Eagle Festival. This festival has really been the focus of the
Mongolian travel in recent time, very much because of Aishol-pan the
"Eagle Huntress". We had a chance to meet this incredible girl who is
certainly an inspiration to women across the world. After the festival we went
and lived with an eagle hunter family deep in the Altai Mountain Range.

Watch my Ooty to Bangalore bus Vlog by KSRTC Airavat Volvo B9R. Watch
the beautiful Nilgiri Hills as the bus driver skillfully drives the huge bus
through the ghat. All KSRTC Volvo B9R's are manual buses and these buses are
mostly used for this route. This bus goes through the Mudumalai & Bandipur
Tiger reserve. This is the first Airavat bus to leave from Ooty i.e. 7:14 am.
The bus was empty and had only four passengers so was waiting a bit to get
more. Ooty is one of my favourite places to visit because of the sheer beauty.
I have travelled previously by TNSTC buses on this route. This is a very
popular route as there's a lot of natural beauty on the way. Also you get to
pass through the Mudumalai & Bandipur Tiger reserve. You can book KSRTC
buses via their app which is very easy to use as well. I always book via the
app.
Zanzibar in 2020-2021 is one
of the few locations still open for tourists. Zanzibar beaches are some of the
best in the world. Let's see what else is there!

Today, I will take you to get a close look at the Tibetan Mastiff, a
large breed of dog that can be found on the Tibetan Plateau, and now all around
the world.
In Tibetan, the dogs are known as Drog-Khyi, which means "nomad
dog", or "dog which may be tied/kept”.
The Tibetan Mastiff has been the loyal herd dog of the nomadic Tibetan
herdsmen for thousands of years, protecting the herds and flocks from attacked
by predators such as wolves, leopards, bears, and tigers.
A full grown male dog can reach up to 33 inches in height, and can weigh
between 45-70 kilograms.
In Tibet, there exists a strong bond between the nomads and their hugely
protective dogs.
As pups, the dogs live together with the family, and as time passes a
friendship takes root between the mastiff and the family members.
Friendship and alliance is automatically understood by the mastiffs, as
part of their natural instincts, and the bond that is forged between the dog
and its family is unbreakable.
While they are primarily a working dog, bred specifically to protect the
herds and the family, Tibetan nomads take extremely good care of the animals,
and they are well fed and well looked after by their families.
I would like to share with you the story of Tibetan Mastiff, Dolma and
its owner nearby Yamdrok Lake, and see how are their daily life.
