This blog has become a sort of personal-cum-public diary. As for its contents, some are meant for me and my friends and relatives; others are for the public. This blog will have only positive, ennobling, elevating, encouraging and uplifting thoughts/ideas/materials. Whoever visits should feel happy and should be able to pick up some good ideas/thoughts/links. In short, "NOTHING NEGATIVE" is my motto.(Grateful thanks to Jon Sullivan and Public-Domain-Photos.com for the background photo)

Curious
how stuff works? Do a hands-on experiment at home, says physicist Nadya Mason.
She shows how you can demystify the world around you by tapping into your
scientific curiosity -- and performs a few onstage experiments of her own using
magnets, dollar bills, dry ice and more.
The
TED Talks channel features the best talks and performances from the TED
Conference, where the world's leading thinkers and doers give the talk of their
lives in 18 minutes (or less). Look for talks on Technology, Entertainment and
Design -- plus science, business, global issues, the arts and more. You're
welcome to link to or embed these videos, forward them to others and share

"The earth
is flat”. “Home computers are useless”. “Humanity is condemned to be starved”.
“Women are born inferior”. Throughout the years, pioneering scientific
discoveries overturn established theories, vibrant societies transcend dominant
perceptions, bold individuals expand physical and intellectual limits proving
everything wrong: This is the way in which we seek to improve our lives and to
deepen the understanding of the world around us. At TEDxLimassol we are
searching for the next refute in small and large things: In the universe and
subatomic particles. In our societies and in our bodies. In our behavior,
attitudes and perceptions. In our mental, physical and personal capabilities.
Proving everything wrong is always the right thing to do.

Today morning only I watched this wonderful video presentation from TED Talks. It was fascinating and I thought I should share with everybody. I do not want to say anything about it and prefer to let you watch for yourself and come to a conclusion. Please don't miss it.

Dear Members of the TED Community,
We are thrilled to tell you about TEDIndia, the upcoming TED conference to be held in Mysore, India November 4-7, 2009.
About TEDIndia:
Under the theme “The Future Beckons,” TEDIndia will present three days of inspiring speakers from the worlds of technology, entertainment, design, science, business and the arts.
"At a time of huge economic uncertainty, one thing remains clear: There's been an unmistakable shift of influence to the east," says TED's Curator Chris Anderson. "We wanted to examine the future from the vantage point of India, a country that's re-inventing itself daily and whose influence is reshaping the world."
Inspired speakers and game-changing ideas, evocative locations and transporting entertainment: TEDIndia offers a vision of the future that's rich with invention, entrepreneurship, cross-disciplinary problem-solving, unexpected solutions and sensory delight. Hosted in a country that's reinventing itself - and reshaping the world …
TEDIndia will be held at the incredible high-tech campus built by Infosys to train its thousands of engineering graduates, representing the heart of the Asian outsourcing industry. And while we have not yet announced the speaker program, it's already shaping up to be an extraordinary line-up. Speakers will include India’s most promising innovators, from entrepreneurs to artists, storytellers to scientists. And about one third of the program will come from outside India. We’ll hear from celebrated global icons as well as undiscovered talent that’s due broader recognition.
