HOW DO WE FACE CORONA?

Imagine you were born in 1900.

When you're 14, World War I begins and ends when you're 18 with 22 million dead.

Soon after a global pandemic, the Spanish Flu, appears, killing 50 million people. And you're alive and 20 years old.

When you're 29 you survive the global economic crisis that started with the collapse of the New York Stock Exchange, causing inflation, unemployment and famine.

When you're 33 years old the nazis come to power.

When you're 39, World War II begins and ends when you're 45 years old with a 60 million dead. In the Holocaust 6 million Jews die.

When you're 52, the Korean War begins.
When you're 64, the Vietnam War begins and ends when you're 75.

A child born in 1985 thinks his grandparents have no idea how difficult life is, but they have survived several wars and catastrophes.

Today we have all the comforts in a new world, amid a new pandemic. But we complain because we need to wear masks. We complain because we must stay confined to our homes where we have food, electricity, running water, wifi, even Netflix! None of that existed back in the day. But humanity survived those circumstances and never lost their joy of living.

A small change in our perspective can generate miracles. We should be thankful that we are alive. We should do everything we need to do to protect and help each other.

Grateful thanks to Mr.Ajay Bansal, English Literature and Facebook.

I have some doubts. My comments  :

Your post is very useful and informative.

But what do we do,  let a few more millions die, without making any fuss. Right?

It is this idiocy of approach, that is agonising. We passively wait, following social distancing, masking, gloving and such negative acts of defence, which is already taking a heavy toll, not sparing even doctors and other health professionals. How long can you hide yourself from this micron-size virus? How long are we going to let this fear destroy our economy, dailywagers,  the poor and diwntrodden?

Waiting endlessly for a miraculous vaccine is getting us nowhere.

In the absence of a vaccine and allopathic remedy, why not embrace the medicines from alternative systems, which have shown great promise? (like Homeopathy and Siddha)

PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN CURE.

Why not initiate preventive measures like imnunity boosting? There are medicines and food items which help in this direction. Why not popularise these and take some proven immune-boosting medicines door to door and administer it to all?

By boosting immunity, you are ready to face and fight any invader, be it a virus, bacteria or germ.

Next, some rogue or rogue nation will genetically engineer some other virus and unleash it on innocent people. What other defence have you  against such contingencies? You go madly searching for another vaccine?

This may help Big Pharma, not the common people.

Sorry,  hope you will my comments in the right perspective.

QUEUING TO DONATE BLOOD!

It only shows that there is still hope for humanity.

Astronauts Bob Behnken and Doug Hurley spoke on Sunday following their return to Earth from the International Space Station (ISS) on the SpaceX Crew Dragon DM-2 in what was the first splashdown in 45 years for NASA and first ever for SpaceX with crew on board, with Hurley calling it "quite an odyssey."

The pair had spent just over 60 days on board the ISS after departing May 30 in what was the first manned space launch from U.S. soil in decades.

Behnken spoke about his and Hurley's experiences, saying they lived through "a big chunk of the shuttle era" and of the assembly of the ISS. He said it was also a sad day when they retired the shuttle program in the U.S., saying they're "super proud" to be part of the team who brought the capability of space flights back to the U.S.

SpaceX CEO Elon Musk also spoke, saying the return of the astronauts was something the whole world can "take pleasure in" as an "achievement of humanity," remarking on the current time where there's "not much good news" and hoped it's something that can brighten people's day no matter where they are on Earth.

Grateful thanks to ELON MUSK, SPACEX, GLOBAL NEWS AND YOUTUBE.

WHY CAN'T WE LIVE IN PEACE WITH EVERYBODY?

I was just too devastated to write anything after yesterday's Beirut blast. These words just came out spontaneously

"Peaceful world and Life : A dream"

Life is going on smoothly.People are busy in their tasks. Some are shopping in markets, some are cooking at home, others are immersed in studying. Children are playing happily at home and streets. All of sudden there is a massive blast and an ear splitting noise with a shock wave so strong that it breaks the windows of houses 5Km away.As the initial commotion subsides the air is filled with cries of wounded and hurt. Some are paralysed with shock.Streets are laden with burned and charred dead bodies.People who were laughing moments ago are now nothing but a mass of burned ashes.
This was the scale of destruction that happened after yesterday blast in Beirut.I was absolutely shattered by the scenes of people lives and properties destroyed in an instant.
I asked myself this question

" Why there is so much death and destruction in this world?"
" Why do we need all those weapons and ammunition? "
"Why cant we live with eachother in peace and harmony? Why we have this urge to destroy others?"

Can we imagine the pain of a mother who lost her childern in that blast? Who can bring back the father that a child lost in this madness? Can anyone repay the damage done to a house that a person made after God knows how many years struggle?
Whenever such incidents happen my heart incurs a new scar everytime.I want to write on peace, nature and beauty but looking at the gloom and suffering every other day I just can't find the words. My heart just keeps bleeding and bleeding and I am sure every sensible person feels the same.
I pray that Lord Almighty have mercy on people of Beirut. The losses that they have incurred are beyond repairable.I pray that this world sees peace one day where no one has to go through such blood curdling scenarios. Life is too short so let's live in peace and make life beautiful for ourselves and everyone around us.
