This blog has become a sort of personal-cum-public diary. As for its contents, some are meant for me and my friends and relatives; others are for the public. This blog will have only positive, ennobling, elevating, encouraging and uplifting thoughts/ideas/materials. Whoever visits should feel happy and should be able to pick up some good ideas/thoughts/links. In short, "NOTHING NEGATIVE" is my motto.(Grateful thanks to Jon Sullivan and Public-Domain-Photos.com for the background photo)

Life has no smooth road for any of us; and in the bracing atmosphere of a high aim the very roughness stimulates the climber to steadier steps, till the legend, over steep ways to the stars, fulfills itself - W. He is an embodiment of patience. I find many sterling qualities of my mother-in-law in him. By patient struggle and hardwork, he has come up in life. As I do not want to embarrass him, I shall not elaborate anymore. May God bless him!
The more difficulties one has to encounter, within and without, the more significant and the higher in inspiration his life will be - Horace Bushnell Write-up on Horace Bushnell from Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horace_Bushnell Grateful thanks to Wikipedia.

My father-in-law, Mr.T.M.Chockalingam Pillai. He was a pioneer in the field of Rice Mills in Tamil Nadu. He had Rustom Engine agency in Tamil Nadu and used to go to places where people wanted to put up Rice Mills. In that way, he has put up many rice mills in Tamil Nadu. He had a large family and one of his sons became a District Judge. Long before my marriage to his daughter, he had passed away. But I could see how people revere him to this day. Great soul! May his soul rest in peace!!
At the Karaikudi Health Institute, during Hahnemann Day (The Founder of Homeopathy), honouring of people who have rendered service in the Free Homeopathy Camp in various respects are used to be honoured. (Free Homeopathy Camps were used to be held at Health Institute every Sunday and in nearby villages, once in two or three months) At one such function, Mr P S Venkateswaran, Controller of Administration, Central Electrochemical Research Institute, Karaikudi, honours Suri.
This photo was taken by me during my visit to Swami Vivekananda Memorial at Kundhukal Beach, Rameswaram. The beach just behind backside wall of the Memorial. That evening I felt a lot of peace in my mind as I looked at the sea, after spending a few quite minutes in the meditation hall of the Memorial. The only discordant note was registered by my people, as they had a very tough travelling by an auto from the main road to that Memorial. A town bus was plying several times a day to that Memorial. The road was so bad and nobody seems to have bothered about its maintenance, in spite of the historical importance of the place. Typical of our people. I have felt it in many places and in many situations: Maintenance is a pointless or meaningless or maybe even a dirty word for our people. Many good things are lost forever for want of maintenance. I am reminded of a saying my father used to quote: A STITCH IN TIME SAVES NINE.
This photo was taken at a Homeopathy function held at the Health Institute, Karaikudi. Renowned Tamil Writer and Homeopath, Major Thi.Saa.Raaju, was the Chief Guest. I was given the assignment of honouring him. I have been an admirer of him and have read many of his short stories along with my friend, Achuthanandam during my Manamadurai days. After coming to Homeopathy, I have read his books on Homeopathy in Tamil. So it was memorable occasion for me to meet my favourite writer and honour him. The Major has long since passed away.So also my Homeopathy teacher, Dr C Abdulla Sehu. This photo has brought me the old memories of my Homeopathy days, which are gone forever now. However, I am happy to post this photo in my Album. I shall always cherish this event.
We are still masters of our fate. We are still captains of our souls - Winston Churchill, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom for two terms,1940–45 and 1951–55. One early morning, Nellai and I decided to go to Singaperumal Kovil and worship at the shrine there. There is a road from Tirupporur to Chengalpat. Before Chengalpat, a short-cut takes us straight to Singaperumal Kovil, without touching Chengalpat. Nellai took me there in his bike. The road was picturesque and I liked it very much. During that trip, I took several snaps, one of them is the above. I have been longing to go to that shrine for a very long time. It was fulfilled with the help of Nellai. I felt very happy about worshipping at the famous shrine and also about the beautiful trip. Nellaiappa, a lot of thanks to you and may God bless you!

This is my uncle, A.S.S., my father's elder brother. My father lost both his parents before he reached the age of 9. So this uncle was like a father to him, which explains I am named after him. (The usual practice is to name the first-born-male child after one's father. My father was very much devoted to him and people used to compare them to Rama and Laxmana.) He was the Leader of the Congress Party in the Dindigul Municipality and was respected by all. He died tragically in a train accident on December 23, 1964. It so happened that when his body was brought to Madurai Railway Station from the accident spot, I was the one who identified him and informed my dad. Then we carried his body by car to his residence at Dindigul.
