Permaculture instructor Andrew Millison journeys to India to film the epic work of the Paani Foundation’s Water Cup Competition. We tour the village of Velu, in Maharashtra, who won the 2016 competition to install the most amount of water harvesting structures in a 45 day period. Guided by Paani Foundation’s chief advisor, DR. AVINASH POL, we take a ride through the village watershed and see a massive water diversion and groundwater recharge project that has dramatically improved the lives, economy, ecology and stability of this village. Although the Paani Foundation doesn't use the word Permaculture to describe what they do, we examine why their work has turned into the biggest Permaculture project on Earth!

Grateflul thanks to ANDREW MILLISON, DR.AVINASH POL and YouTube.

VITAMIN F

*VITAMIN F*💐💐

(I loved this and want to share it with you all)😊😊

Why do I have a *variety of friends* who are all so different in character ? How can I get along with them all?

I think that each one helps to bring out a "different" part of me.

*With one of them I am polite.*

*I joke with another friend.*

*I sit down and talk about serious matters with one.*

*With another I laugh a lot.*

*I listen to one friend's problems.*

*Then I listen to another one's advice for me.*

*My friends are all like pieces of a jigsaw puzzle.*
*When completed they form a treasure Box !!!*

We all pray for each other.

Even Doctors tell us that friends are good for our health.

Dr. Oz calls them *Vitamin F* (for Friends) and counts the benefits of friends as essential to our well being.

*Research shows that people in strong social circles have less risk of depression and terminal strokes.*

If you enjoy *Vitamin F* constantly,
you can be up to 30 years *younger than your real age.*

*The warmth of friendship stops* stress and even in your most intense moments it decreases the chance of a cardiac arrest or stroke by 50%.

I'm so happy that I have such a huge stock of
*Vitamin F.*

FACTS & FIGURES

CONGRATS!

“Salute the spirit of these 2 young nurses from Rajindra Hospital, Patiala who tested positive for Covid-19. This, however, did not dishearten them and the Government agreed to their request to appear for their exam from the isolation facility itself,” tweeted Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh, sharing this picture of two nurses who appeared for their exam from the quarantine facility of Patiala’s Rajindra Hospital.

The two women, after contracting the virus, requested the state government to give them permission for taking the exams from the hospital they were admitted in. The nursing entrance exam, held on Sunday, June 21, to fill up 411 posts of staff nurses, was taken by the two candidates after the state government made provisions.

Kudos to their spirit!

Webinar on 'Corona Virus Pandemic: Looking through the Lens of Gandhi'

June 26, (Friday) from (IST) 10:00 a.m. to 13:30 p.m.
Gandhi viewed that avoiding disease is far superior than getting and curing it. Hence, he advocated that ‘it is important to be clean, control your diet, get substantial daily exercise and not take more medicines than you really need’. Plagues and pandemics also occurred during his time. He was seized of the matter as his writings suggest. He was a survivor of the spanish flu, which hit his family and close friends.

In this context, a National Webinar on ‘Novel Corona Virus-19: Looking through the Lens of Gandhi' is organized by the Mahatma Gandhi Chair on Decentralisation and Sustainable Development, Centre for Rural Management (CRM), Kottayam, Kerala on 26 June 2020 (Friday) from (IST) 10:00 a.m. to 13:30 p.m (GMT+5.30 hours) through an appropriate platform such as Google mate/ Cisco Webex/ Zoom.

TENNIS STAR CORONA POSITIVE!

The No. 1 ranked tennis player in the world, Novak Djokovic, tested positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday after he hosted a charity tennis tournament in the Croatian town of Zadar.

  • According to Djokovic’s Twitter the event was an effort to celebrate improving health conditions and “unite people for philanthropic reasons.”

  • Two things that aren't a good idea right now: uniting and celebrating.
GRATEFUL THANKS TO MORNING BREW!

SALUTES TO THESE CORONA WARRIORS!

Facts and Figures-61: "Antarctica losing 190,000,000,000 tons of ice per year!"

A news item in Harper's Weekly (Harper's Weekly Review, November 24, 2009) says that Antartica was now losing, hold your breath, 190,000,000,000 tons of ice per year! I am curious how scientists arrive at these mind-boggling figures.

Grateful thanks to Paul Ford and Harper's Weekly.
