Kedarnath is one of the most sacred pilgrimage of Lord Shiva situated in rudraprayag district of garhwal himalayas.
Lord Shiva is worshipped as Kedarnath, the 'Lord of Kedar Khand', the historical name of the region. ... The temple was built by Pandavas and revived by Adi Sankaracharya and is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas, the holiest Hindu shrines of Shiva. Kedarnath yatra is one of the toughest pilgrimage though completely constructed path.Pathway is 6 7 feet wide guarded with iron railing. What one can only hear is "Har Har Mahadev" which keeps everyone motivated throughout the yatra. The utterance of the sound "Shiva" attains a completely new dimension and significance in Kedar Valley. It is a space which has been specially prepared for this particular sound.

Anecdotes-3: From the Life of Rabindranath Tagore

It was the year 1912, and 51-year-old Rabindranath Tagore was on a ship to England. The long journey by sea did not agree with him, but Tagore was finding his work a pleasant distraction. What he was working on was an English translation of Gitanjali for members of the India Society in London, urged by his friend, English painter William Rothstein. Imagine his dismay when he lost the manuscript while negotiating the unfamiliar tube station in London! And his surprise when it was miraculously retrieved from the lost-and-found office! Neither the Good Samaritan who had turned it in nor Tagore could have guessed that the translation, Gitanjali: Song Offerings, would make him the first Indian to earn the Nobel Prize in Literature the very next year, in 1913!

Letters-99: Sardar Patel on Nehru

Excerpts From a Letter written by Sardar Patel in Abhinandan Granth eulogising Nehru

“Jawaharlal and I have been fellow-members of the Congress, soldiers in the struggle for freedom, colleagues in the Congress Working Committee, and other bodies of the Congress, devoted followers of the Great Master who has unhappily left us to battle with grave problems without his guidance, and co-sharers in the great and onerous burden of administration of this vast country.
Having known each other in such intimate and varied fields of activity we have naturally grown fond of each other; our mutual affection has increased as years have advanced, and it is difficult for people to imagine how much we miss each other when we are apart and unable to take counsel together in order to resolve our problems and difficulties.
It was, therefore, in the fitness of things that in the twilight preceding the dawn of independence he should have been our leading light, and that when India was faced with crisis after crisis, following the achievement of our freedom, he should have been the upholder of our faith and the leader of our legions
No one knows better than myself how much he has laboured for his country in the last two years of our difficult existence. I’ve seen him age quickly during that period, on account of the worries of the high office that he holds and the tremendous responsibilities that he wields.
His thoughts have sometime a depth which it is not easy to fathom, but underlying them to all is a transparent sincerity and a robustness of youth which endear him to everyone without distinction of caste and creed, race or religion”

Q&A-14: How many organisms are in the human body?

How many organisms are in the human body?

Researchers hope the advance marks an important step towards understanding how microbes help make humans human. The human body contains about 100 trillion cells, but only maybe one in 10 of those cells is actually — human. The rest are from bacteria, viruses and other microorganisms.

Facts and Figures-102: FIVE MOST AMAZING ACCIDENTAL HISTORICAL DISCOVERIES

FIVE MOST AMAZING ACCIDENTAL HISTORICAL DISCOVERIES

5 Most Amazing Accidental Historical Discoveries
Published by MAD LAB on Feb.26, 2018
4,286,584 Views!   Rich soil always appreciates good care so it can provide miraculous natural gifts to the farmer. However, James Bristle, a farmer from Michigan, got something more exciting from the ground. He had a field to grow soybeans and one day he noticed something sticking out of the ground that looked like an old decayed fence post at first sight. However, the find turned out to be much more amazing. James got an excavator to dig deeper and was stunned to see a well-preserved skull. These were the bones of a wooly mammoth that lived on the planet about 15,000 years ago. The multiton giant was approximately 40 years old when it died. Archaeologists found most of the animal’s skeleton, including the almost intact skull with tusks, though they did not find its limbs. Apparently, some hunters separated and took the limbs and put the mammoth’s body in storage. It is noteworthy that James exercised his right to keep some of the mammoth remains and gave most of the bones and the skull to a local museum. That was the first discovery, let’s see what’s next!
