Have you ever heard about the Tippe Top?
The phenomenon of the Tippe Top has fascinated the world of scientists since the 1800s. The Tippe Top is a toy formed like a top that, when spun, will spontaneously invert itself to spin on its narrow stem. The fact that when the Tippe Top inverts, it also changes the direction of the rotation increased the fascination even further! The same effect can be accomplished with an american football or a hardboiled egg.
The Tippe Top has, ever since its invention, fascinated Nobel Laureates such as Niels Bohr and Wolfgang Pauli.
